About the role
As a Photojournalist at Spectrum News, you’ll work closely with a team of journalists to produce high-quality, engaging newscasts. Your primary responsibility is to capture compelling visuals that enhance the storytelling process.Responsibilities
- Shoot and edit television news footage using ENG/SNG/Satellite vehicles and bonded cellular streaming.
- Use the latest technology to tell character-driven stories and connect with viewers across various platforms.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and execute story ideas, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Work independently and alongside a supportive team to deliver impactful content.
- Travel to different locations to gather footage for stories.
Requirements
- Experience: Shooting and editing television news footage - 5+ years
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field, or comparable television work experience
- Technical Skills: Operation of ENG/SNG/Satellite vehicles and bonded cellular streaming
- Skills: Knowledge of how to clearly communicate solutions; ability to relate to populations and ages
- Abilities: Positive attitude and eagerness to solve problems, lifting and carrying up to 100 pounds, ability to distinguish colors and discern sounds
- Travel Ability: Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community
- Schedule: Ability to work different shifts, be flexible with schedule changes and able to cover stand-by responsibilities when assigned
- Valid driver's license for authorized driving in the state of residence
