About the Role
The Photographer/Editor is responsible for shooting and editing all elements of stories used in Telemundo broadcasts, adhering to the highest technical standards.
Responsibilities
- Creatively visualize stories told by Correspondents and Producers using HD cameras, creative lighting, expert sound, and on-air communications.
- Operate cellular bonded transmission equipment (e.g., LiveU) and manage live broadcast scenarios.
- Photograph and edit feature stories under tight deadlines.
- Collaborate with Producers and Correspondents on series, special reports, breaking news, and long-form content.
- Assist in pre-production and post-production processes.
- Maintain equipment and resources in good working condition, including updating inventory.
- Operate a crew vehicle and create pack lists/manifests for domestic and international deployments.
- Manage administrative tasks related to travel, expenses, media file workflows, and telecommunication tools.
- Deliver content using defined media standards and transfer practices for video and audio material.
- Work under the direct supervision of the Manager, Field Operations, and complete other assigned tasks.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Photographer/Camera Operator in the field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Editor.
- Proven experience managing or assisting live transmissions via bonded cellular (e.g., LiveU), satellite trucks, or local microwave.
- Experience sending stories via file transfer (e.g., latakoo, Media Shuttle) and bonded cellular technology.
- Proficiency in Avid 6.0 Media Composer and Mac operating systems.
- Proficiency with Sony HD series professional broadcast cameras, including FX9 and FX3.
- Experience with on-air lighting and shot composition.
- Basic understanding of audio and on-air communication principles (e.g., in-ear, microphone placement).
- Basic understanding of broadcast signal flow.
- Fluency in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
- Proficiency in Office 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Yammer, Stream, and Teams).
- Ability to work in various locations and outdoor environments with varying weather conditions.

Additional Requirements
- Willingness to work in New York, NY.
- Willingness to travel and work overtime, including weekends, with short notice.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must be “on call” 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.
- This position is full-time and performed from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

Pay
Salary range: $95,000 - $110,000.
