Photographer

Requisition for a Photographer role within the onboard photography team. Candidates must complete an online application to be considered.

About the role

The Photographer will work within and learn from a team to create and sell warm, personal photography experiences that guests can use to celebrate and share their cruise vacation. They will capture and engage guests in a variety of settings both on board and ashore to produce high-quality products sold in the Photography storefront. The role is integral to a multifaceted department that includes Portrait, Souvenir, and Wedding photography, as well as a full retail store.

Under the guidance of the Photo Management team, the Photographer will deliver assigned image counts and sales targets while ensuring guest satisfaction across all department areas to achieve budgeted goals.

Responsibilities

• Proactively greet guests in the photo gallery and assist them in using digital photo kiosks to select favorite photos and packages.
• Clearly explain products and services to guests, opening and closing interactions with effective sales techniques.
• Photograph all requested events onboard and ashore as scheduled by the Photo Manager, meeting established performance goals.
• Deliver excellent customer service by maintaining a friendly, warm, and calm attitude toward guests and crew.
• Competently use and maintain a range of photographic equipment, including digital SLR cameras, portrait studio equipment, computers, and image editing software.
• Ensure photographs are captured correctly and tagged with guest cabins per instructions from the Photo Manager and Assistant Photo Managers.
• Wear mascot costumes inside/outside the ship for photo shoots when required, engaging guests with lively energy and enthusiasm.
• Use POS systems to accurately charge each transaction as directed by management.
• Participate attentively in training and staff meetings with management.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or directed, including tasks logically related to the position.
• Familiarize yourself with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the SMS, carrying out policies and procedures appropriate for the role.

Requirements

• Minimum of six (6) months of experience in a customer service and/or retail sales environment.
• Minimum of six (6) months of experience as a professional photographer or a certificate of completion from a training course specific to cruise ship photography.
• Intermediate to advanced level English verbal and writing skills, including proper use of English grammar.
• High school diploma or foreign equivalent is required; Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent from a recognized educational institution is preferred (relevant experience may substitute for this preference).
