About the role

This position is responsible for turning interest into bookings. You are the primary sales contact for guests who are curious about our trips – the person who gets them “over the fence” and onto the calendar.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary sales contact for inbound leads via phone, email, and web inquiries
  • Consult with guests to understand their goals, experience level, and travel preferences, then recommend the best BCJ trips
  • Confidently ask for the booking and guide guests through the reservation process from “interested” to “paid & confirmed”
  • Proactively follow up with:
    • Guests who have requested info but haven’t booked yet
    • Past guests who may be a great fit for upcoming departures
    • Warm leads generated by our marketing campaigns
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all leads, calls, and sales activity in our systems/CRM
  • Collaborate with Customer Service and Operations to ensure bookings are correct, special requests are noted, and handoffs are smooth
  • Meet or exceed agreed-upon sales KPIs
  • Represent the BCJ brand with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for travel & photography

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience in a sales role (travel, adventure, hospitality, or high-end service industry experience strongly preferred)
  • Comfort and confidence closing deals over the phone and via email – you can ask for the sale in a friendly but direct way
  • Strong knowledge of, or genuine interest in, landscape & wildlife photography and related gear (lenses, camera bodies & equipment)
  • Self-starting attitude and the ability to manage your own time, follow-ups, and pipeline without constant oversight
  • Proven problem solver – you can handle objections, think ahead, and juggle lots of prospects without dropping the ball
  • Strong organizational habits and attention to detail to keep bookings, notes, and guest information accurate
  • Metrics-oriented mindset: you’re comfortable tracking your activity, learning from your numbers, and working toward clear goals
  • Positive, flexible, solution-oriented, and excited to collaborate with a remote, diverse team
  • Mature, coachable, and open to feedback – you’re happy doing both high-level consultative calls and routine follow-up tasks
  • Outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal) — you’re great on the phone, clear in email, and skilled at building trust quickly with guests

Qualifications

  • Competitive compensation with bonus potential
  • Two weeks of paid time off
  • Opportunities to join in on trips to see what we’re all about!
