Phlebotomy Technician II

About the Role

This position is responsible for performing all duties of a Phlebotomist Tech II, including routine blood collection across all age groups, from neonates to adults. The role also involves functioning in the specimen processing and receiving area of the Laboratory, providing age-appropriate care, and demonstrating competency in patient and specimen registration.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine blood collection on patients of all age groups, including neonates and infants.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills in specimen processing and receiving.
• Provide care appropriate to the age of patients in the assigned area.
• Register patients and specimens accurately.

Requirements

• Minimum of one (1) year of phlebotomy experience with all age groups.
• Active and current Phlebotomy certification with a national agency.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate.
• Valid Driver’s License (FDL).

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to interact successfully with patients, staff, and other healthcare providers.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of relevant computer skills for patient ID systems and specimen processing functions.
