Phlebotomy Technician 1- Lab- PT- 1st Shift
Responsibilities
- Obtain blood specimens from patients and deliver specimens to the laboratory and/or send through the transport system.
- Correctly identify patients and specimens.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- MLA certification from a nationally recognized credentialing agency (i.e. ASCP or AMT) preferred.
- Associates Degree with a minimum of 6 semester hours of biology and 6 semester hours of chemistry preferred.
- Previous work experience strongly preferred.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.
- Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in the handling of patient information.
- Absolute integrity and accuracy in the patient identification process.
- Must complete HeartSaver CPR by the end of the orientation period.
