Phlebotomy Supervisor

About the role

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor to join our team in Chantilly, VA. In this role, you will lead a team of over 25 phlebotomists working in Patient Service Centers and/or physician's offices. You will directly impact the patient and client experience by managing operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and fostering a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of phlebotomists, managing patient flow, wait times, and inventory levels.
• Monitor monthly productivity and report deviations as necessary.
• Coordinate phlebotomists' schedules through resourceful and creative planning.
• Perform operational duties, including payroll, monthly scheduling, and performance appraisals.
• Partner with Human Resources on employee relations issues and disciplinary actions.
• Hire and train phlebotomists to fill open positions.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, including patients, client office staff, sales teams, logistics, and senior management.
• Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and clients.
• Assist in the setup of new Patient Service Centers or Client Offices.
• Resolve patient or client issues as they arise.
• Perform, collect, and prepare specimens when needed.
• Travel to additional sites as necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation and a clean driving record (if applicable).
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• At least 21 years old.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Preferred: 1 year or more as a supervisor or leader of direct reports.
• Preferred: 3 years or more experience as a phlebotomist.

Pay

Salary Range: $45,000 - $75,000 per year. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Additional days and hours may be required.
