Phlebotomy Supervisor

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor to join the team in Alexandria, VA. In this role you will lead a team of phlebotomists, manage patient service centers and designated client locations, and directly impact the patient/client experience.

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday 5:00 am – 8:00 pm with occasional Saturdays; hours may vary by location.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of 20+ phlebotomists working in Patient Service Centers and/or physician’s offices.
• Manage patient flow, wait times, inventory levels, and information logs.
• Monitor monthly productivity and report any deviations as necessary.
• Coordinate phlebotomists’ schedules through resourceful and creative thinking.
• Perform operational duties such as payroll, monthly schedules, and performance appraisals.
• Partner with Human Resources regarding employee‑relations issues and disciplinary actions.
• Hire and train phlebotomists to fill open positions.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, including patients, client office staff, sales team, logistics, and senior management.
• Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and clients.
• Assist in the set‑up of new Patient Service Centers or client offices.
• Resolve any patient or client issues.
• Perform, collect, and prepare specimens when needed.
• Travel to additional sites as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 1 year or more of experience as a phlebotomist.

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 years or more experience as a phlebotomist.
• 3 years or more experience in phlebotomy managerial, supervisory, or team‑leader roles.

Additional Requirements

• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency, or equivalent experience.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Able to pass a standardized color‑blindness test.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Pay

$55,000 – $90,000 annually (based on skills, experience, certifications, internal equity, and market data).
