Phlebotomy Supervisor

Position Summary

The Phlebotomy Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the phlebotomy team. This position is for Evenings/Nights.

Responsibilities

• Planner and organizer of phlebotomy workflow to ensure quality patient care.
• Manages operations to ensure the phlebotomy team works efficiently to meet expected turn-around-time for collections.
• Promotes teamwork and serves as a positive influence on the morale of the team.
• Troubleshoots and analyzes processes to improve quality and efficiencies.
• Interviews, hires, and trains new employees.
• Ensures all phlebotomists are competent in the process of drawing blood and that techniques are performed according to standards.
• Aids in developing policies and procedures.
• Counsels and performs employee evaluations.
• Prepares employee schedules.

Qualifications

• Associate in Medical Laboratory Technology with experience in phlebotomy or High School graduation and successful completion of a Phlebotomy Training Program with Phlebotomy Certification (ASCP or equivalent).
• A minimum of 3 years experience required.
