Phlebotomy Site Coordinator

About the role

This position is responsible for the coordination and oversight of activities at Patient Service Centers within an assigned area. The Phlebotomy Site Coordinator will work closely with PSC staff, management, laboratory staff, and clients to ensure optimal operation of the Patient Service Center. The role also includes performing phlebotomy and specimen processing procedures at LabCorp Patient Service Centers under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report any performance, compliance, or staffing-related issues to supervisors
• Manage and monitor patient flow, wait times, inventory levels, and information logs
• Monitor monthly productivity reports and report any deviations as necessary
• Address customer service-related issues promptly and respectfully
• Promote teamwork, cohesiveness, and effective communication among coworkers
• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Handle administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)
• 1 year or more of experience as a phlebotomist
• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency
• In-depth knowledge of phlebotomy duties, responsibilities, and techniques
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation and clean driving record (if applicable)
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years or more of experience as a phlebotomist
• 1 year or more of experience as a people leader

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with rotating Saturdays 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM. Additional days and hours may be required.

Pay

Pay range: $17.75 - $28.00 per hour. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, internal equity, and market data. Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, casual, intern, and temporary employees are eligible only for the 401(k) plan. Employees on a 7-on/7-off schedule are eligible for all benefits except PTO or FTO.
