About the role
Qualified instructors provide training for phlebotomy technician students in a continuing education classroom environment during weekday, evening, and weekend sessions. Instructors teach all aspects of phlebotomy in healthcare settings, including collection procedures, safety guidelines, patient rights, test requirements, equipment basics, venous collection techniques, proper collection procedures, and identification of collection supplies.
Responsibilities
- Teach all aspects of phlebotomy in healthcare settings, including collection procedures, safety guidelines, patient rights, test requirements, equipment basics, venous collection techniques, proper collection procedures, and identification of collection supplies.
- Deliver high-quality healthcare workforce training that supports student success and industry readiness.
Requirements
- High School or equivalent and 3 years work experience in phlebotomy.
- Current ASCP phlebotomy certification.
- Contact in local phlebotomy facilities to coordinate off-campus clinical rotations.
- Experience with PowerPoint, Canvas, and Zoom.
- Experience teaching seminars and workshops.
- Experience coordinating clinical phlebotomy externships and rotations.
Qualifications
- Certified phlebotomist with a minimum of three years of professional phlebotomy experience.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
