Position
Phlebotomy Coordinator
Location
Easthampton with travel between Greenfield, Northampton and Amherst Health Centers
Hours
40 hours, Monday - Friday generally between 8:00am and 5:00pm. Hours may vary depending on department needs.
Salary Range
$49,158.54 To $73,737.80 Annually
Job Responsibilities
- Oversees the development, implementation, and adherence to departmental and organizational policies and procedures
- Ensures compliance with state, federal, and local regulations, guidelines and accreditation agencies
- Demonstrates fiscal responsibility in ensuring appropriate purchases, disbursement of funds and accountability
- Maintains work schedules and ensures the compliance of all policies and procedures of the lab
- Monitors performance measures; Identifies areas for improvement of performance
- Develops staff through role modeling, coaching and mentoring utilizing optimism and enthusiasm. Align staff and projects to achieve initiatives
- Provides ongoing feedback and performs evaluations in a timely manner
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent; Associates Degree preferred
- Certified Phlebotomist or Certified Medical Assistant with minimum 3 years experience in phlebotomy
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Knowledge of standard laboratory policies and procedures
- Ability to handle and process specimens for transportation/analysis
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; travel between health centers is required
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with staff development, training, mentoring, and education to support competency development of assigned team
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to establish priorities in fast paced health care environment
- EMR experience (Athena preferred)
