Phlebotomist - Travel Required

About the role

The Phlebotomist (PSR I) draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. The role involves direct patient contact, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence by explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
• Complete all data entry requirements accurately, including patient registration and test order entry from requisitions or databases.
• Verify patient demographic information and initials, including obtaining patient signatures post-venipuncture to confirm tube labeling accuracy.
• Research test and client information, and confirm/verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems or directory of services.
• Complete training courses and stay up to date with the latest phlebotomy techniques.
