Phlebotomist PRN hours- SCH--days, evenings, nights, weekends

Responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance and Quality: Uphold CLIA, CAP, OSHA, TJC, and other regulatory standards.
• Perform duties as assigned by the medical director.
• Complete initial orientation and training, obtain and maintain relevant certifications, participate in annual training, competency assessments, and demonstrate satisfactory performance.
• Collect and process patient samples efficiently.
• Adhere to laboratory standard operating procedures for specimen handling and processing.
• Oversee specimen integrity through accurate collection, labeling, and transport.
• Follow established policies for corrective action and report issues impacting test performance.
• Document all corrective actions taken.
• Manage the entire accessioning process, including patient registration, test ordering, sample handling, preparation, processing, send-out coordination, and pneumatic tube sample receipt.
• Proactively engage with healthcare offices to resolve registration and sample-related problems and handle phone calls.
• Respond to codes and trauma situations promptly in the Emergency Department, deliver blood products in emergent situations, and ensure swift and accurate delivery.
• Practice and maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, including proficiency in PPE use.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED
• Phlebotomy certification from ASCP, NHA, or nationally accredited agency, obtained within 1 year of eligibility.
