About the role

This is a Per Diem (part-time, day-shift) Phlebotomist position at Holy Cross Health Florida in Fort Lauderdale. The role involves leadership in orientation and training of new Associates and students, in addition to performing high-quality venipunctures and specimen collections.

Responsibilities

• Achieve 98% proficiency in venipuncture attempts.
• Ensure specimens collected are appropriate for required tests (correct tube, amount of blood).
• Follow protocol for patient identification and specimen labeling at all times; understand consequences of deviation.
• Demonstrate consistent ability to perform venipunctures on infants, children, and adults.
• Perform all collections in a timely manner.
• Demonstrate knowledge of proper utilization of various types of equipment (e.g., syringe, butterflies, lancets, vacutainers, blood culture equipment).

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an approved Phlebotomy program and/or minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience in an acute care hospital.
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
