About the Role
We are seeking a Phlebotomist Tech for our Ontario hospital. This is a part-time, 8-hour, day-shift position with occasional weekends and a rotating schedule.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual tasks involved with registering, ordering, proper collection, labeling, processing, and distribution of specimens for laboratory testing from patients of all ages.
- Utilize relevant computer programs and perform data entry.
- Serve as the central communication point of the laboratory for all incoming requests.
- Maintain quality and quantity of specimens sent to reference laboratories.
- Report results received from reference laboratories.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and hospital staff.
- Good working knowledge of medical terminology and computers.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
- Experience in phlebotomy in a hospital setting preferred.
