About the role
The Phlebotomist in this position draws blood from patients with minimum discomfort and pain, for the performance of various blood and chemical analyses. They work effectively with other personnel to provide efficient and effective services.

- Draws blood from patients with minimum discomfort and pain
- Performs various blood and chemical analyses
- Works effectively with other personnel to provide efficient and effective services
Requirements
- Uses the approved process to resolve biophysical, psychological, educational and environmental needs of patient and significant other when administering care
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment which may include a considerable amount of walking, and physical assistance for patients
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology, infection control and safety
- Adaptability and accuracy
- Good visual acuity and motor coordination
- Strong clinical skills
- Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions
- Strong computer skills (data entry and typing)
- Honest, dependable, and conscientious
Qualifications
- Formal training will be indicated by a high school diploma or equivalent
- Graduation from an approved phlebotomy training program
- Current venipuncture certificate
- Previous experience in a laboratory at a multi-specialty clinic
