Core Responsibilities
- Travel daily to multiple nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other residential care environments to perform phlebotomy procedures, pick up specimens, or deliver supplies.
- Verify patient identity and ensure proper labeling of all specimens according to laboratory protocol.
- Collect blood samples using proper techniques and equipment.
- Prepare specimens for transport to the laboratory, ensuring appropriate packaging and documentation.
- Follow all CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control regulations.
- Maintain communication with lab personnel, facility staff, and healthcare providers regarding any issues or concerns.
- Document all visits, patient interactions, and sample collections accurately in electronic or paper logs.
- Maintain phlebotomy supplies, including restocking and proper disposal of sharps and biohazardous materials. May require delivery of supplies to facilities serviced by the Company.
- Provide excellent patient service, especially to elderly and medically fragile populations.
Minimum Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification and registration with LSBME preferred.
- At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience, preferably in a mobile or geriatric setting preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Able to work a rotating on call schedule, including weekends and/or holidays as needed.
- Able to have reliable means of communication which allows mobile access to various online Company applications.
