Phlebotomist Lab Assistant I
About the role
The laboratories of Indiana University Health offer comprehensive laboratory services, performing over 19 million tests annually. The Lab Assistant I supports these operations by handling specimen collection, order entry, blood component preparation, and related clerical tasks.
Responsibilities
- Collect and prepare specimens for testing
- Enter orders and register patients and specimens
- Deliver specimens as needed
- Perform pre-analytic processing of specimens
- Handle related clerical tasks
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Completion of a phlebotomy training program
- Experience in laboratory or coursework in biological, chemical, or related sciences preferred
- Valid Indiana operator's license and good driving record within the past three years
- Working knowledge of computers
- Telephone skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods

Pay
Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Full-time, days (M-F 6:30AM-3:00PM). Potential for one weekend per month.
