About the role

Under direct supervision by department leadership, performs phlebotomy collection of whole blood and apheresis products. Interacts with donors and coordinators, providing a high level of customer service to deliver an excellent donation experience. Operates the mobile drive vehicle, loads and unloads supplies, and transports mobile staff safely and efficiently. Contributes to a collaborative and respectful team culture, modeling teamwork, effective communication, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Follows all DOT guidelines when operating full-size commercial van/Promaster, and safely transports staff, supplies, and equipment.
• Loads/unloads supplies and performs set up at the mobile site, including technology systems and quality control.
• Performs donor screening (collects donor histories), mini-physical, and phlebotomy.
• Treats donors with customer service excellence, presenting a positive image. Responds to customer inquiries, requests, and complaints with timely and complete responses.
• Provides a service-centric donor experience by interacting with donors respectfully, compassionately, and professionally.
• May conduct automation (Alyx and/or Trima), including recognizing and responding to automation reactions. Recruits and converts donors for automation.
• Contributes to and upholds a positive team culture and employee experience by fostering teamwork, collaborating effectively, and supporting coworkers.
• Maintains product integrity and ensures proper identification of all donors, performs routine maintenance on equipment, and completes department records as needed.
• Observes donors for reactions, provides reaction care, and assists other staff in handling reactions if needed.
• Rebooks donors for future donation appointments.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.
• Understands and performs in accordance with all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Complies with all standard operating policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years relevant people-facing experience preferred; less than 1 year job-related experience required.
• Valid and in-state Driver License (DL) required; Cargo certification required.
• Must have availability from 4:00am-10:00pm, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as Standard Operating Procedures, safety rules, and operating instructions.
• Basic mathematical aptitude and strong attention to detail required.
• Ability to apply judgment to written or oral instructions and organize work for productive workflow.
• Ability to provide a consistently positive donor experience through professional, empathetic donor-centric service.
• Flexibility to work independently, with a team, and adaptability to changing organizational and donor needs.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to respectfully provide and receive feedback.
• Ability to learn/utilize computer applications as required to perform duties.

Skills

• Knowledge of standardized work routines and methods, general facts, and use of simple equipment.
• Proficiency with navigation systems, personal computers, general office equipment, and Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with screening equipment including: Lancet, Sphygmomanometer (BP cuff), Temperature probe, Hemoglobin analyzer.
• Experience with phlebotomy collection equipment that may include blood mixer, Trima, Alyx.

Schedule

• Full-time position (32-40 hours/week).
• 5 days on, 2 days off; schedules are posted 2-3 weeks in advance.
• Hours determined by blood drive schedule; work days include Monday through Friday, weekends, and holidays.

Pay

Target salary is based on internal averages and local market alignment. Compensation decisions consider education, experience, skills, and performance. Specific salary information is shared at the time of the phone screening based on location and qualifications.
