About the Role

This position requires a state phlebotomy license (Quest does not accept NHA licenses in CA, WA, NV). The role is based in Seattle, WA, with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and rotational weekends. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required. The pay range is $28.85 - $34.40 / hour, with salary offers based on factors such as skills, experience, education, and certifications. Successful candidates may be eligible for an annual performance bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Specimen Collection & Processing: Perform venipuncture and capillary draws, handle difficult collections (pediatric, geriatric, hard sticks), obtain patient identification and signatures, perform data entry, prepare specimens for transport and testing, and research test/client information.
  • Patient Experience & Customer Service: Resolve routine patient and client concerns, provide professional and efficient service, address patient questions, perform accurate data entry, maintain a clean and welcoming environment, and handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Site Support and Travel: Provide coverage across assigned Patient Service Centers (PSCs) and Client Offices (IOPs), ensure daily office activities are completed accurately, maintain reliable transportation, and meet travel expectations.
  • Operations & Compliance: Obtain patient identification, enter billing information, follow departmental policies and safety protocols, utilize laboratory systems, support administrative tasks, and maintain current phlebotomy skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Required Work Experience: Two years of phlebotomy experience.
  • Preferred Work Experience: Customer service in a retail or service environment.
  • Physical And Mental Requirements: Lift up to 15 lbs frequently, up to 40 lbs occasionally; perform repetitive hand motions, stand or sit for extended periods, walk and stand frequently, bend, kneel, reach, twist, or pull occasionally; extensive use of phone and computer; communicate in English.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of phlebotomy best practices, including pediatric and geriatric draws.
  • Skills: Ability to work independently, perform accurate work in a fast-paced setting, strong communication skills, keyboard/data entry experience.
  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required).
  • Languages: English (Required).
  • Licenses and Certifications: Phlebotomy certification required in CA, NV, WA, and LA; professional medical certification (medical assistant, phlebotomy, or similar) preferred.
  • Work Requirements: Travel up to 75%.
