Phlebotomist II- Bilingual
Responsibilities
- Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
- Explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection methods clearly and courteously.
- Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
- Understand and follow all physician orders accurately.
- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
- Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
- Verify test requisitions or computer labels against the script for accuracy.
- Package specimens for transport and store them at the required temperature.
- Adequately place specimens in appropriate collection containers and accurately label them.
- Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations.
- Attend annual department training sessions.
- Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results as needed.
Essential Skills
- Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
- Minimum of 6 months work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- High School Diploma or GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience in a related field.
- Experience in pediatric, internal medicine, and obstetrics/gynecology settings is required.
- Ability to work independently.
Work Environment
The Phlebotomist II will work in a doctor's office located in New Jersey. The role is non-float and training will occur at the work location. The shift is Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. The phlebotomist is expected to handle 25-35 patient draws daily. Two weeks of training will be provided at the start of the role. The work involves interacting with all age groups, including pediatrics.

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
