Phlebotomist II
About the role
Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist II to support our client’s medical facility, based in Roanoke, VA 24016. This is a 3+ contract role with a possible extension opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization.
Location: Roanoke, VA 24018. Schedule: 7:30am-4 pm with a 30-minute lunch. Pay Range: $19.00- $21.35/hr, based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood sampling with precision and care.
- Ensure proper identification of patients prior to blood collection.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
- Accurately label and document specimens for testing in accordance with medical terminology standards.
- Label, process, and transport blood specimens accurately and efficiently in compliance with CLIA, OSHA, and HIPAA standards.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Medical training (such as medical assistant or paramedic programs) is preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary draws.
- At least two (2) years of experience in a Patient Service Center or clinical setting is preferred.
