Key Responsibilities
- Completes order entry of tests into the LIS. Gathers and documents necessary clinical information. Refers questions regarding information to appropriate clinician.
- Selects appropriate venous puncture site based on knowledge of pathophysiology. Performs phlebotomy for collection of blood for clinical and research testing.
- Maintains patient comfort, safety, and adequate blood flow. Monitors individuals for adverse reactions.
- Selects and prepares tubes/containers, paperwork, labels and forms. Has knowledge of testing requirements for clinical tests including special handling requirements.
- Maintains and monitors supplies. Notifies appropriate staff when reorder levels are reached.
- Provides positive customer service that supports departmental and hospital operations. Performs and records quality control measures to ensure accurate equipment performance, making and documenting necessary adjustments. Participates in continuous improvement efforts.
- Contributes to teamwork within and between departments and organizations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High School / GED required
- Experience: At least 6 months Phlebotomy experience preferred
- Licensure: Current certification as a phlebotomist by a national certifying agency (e.g. ASCP) is preferred
Shift/hours
Monday-Friday: 3:00pm-8:30pm, including/ rotating weekends and holidays
Part time – 28 hours per week

$19.06-$27.64 Hourly
