Phlebotomist I

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with rotational weekends. Pay range: $24.00 - $24.50 per hour. Salary offers consider relevant skills, training, experience, education, certifications, market factors, and organizational factors.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
• Administer oral solutions following established training.
• Research test and client information; confirm and verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems, client contact, and approved tools.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Obtain identification, enter billing information, and collect payments when required, following corporate policies.
• Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required by test order.
• Perform non-patient-facing duties: inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and using email.
• Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs (e.g., maintenance logs, temperature logs) in a timely manner based on frequency.
• Complete online and in-person training courses on time.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training (e.g., medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• One year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
