Location: Ridgefield, CT 06877 • Local contract • 3+ months
Pay
$17 – $21.00 hourly (based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education)
Schedule
7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and handle decontamination
- Collect and store specimens in accordance with established procedures
- Explain the venipuncture or other specimen-collection process clearly and courteously to patients
- Demonstrate proper technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles
- Interpret all physicians’ orders accurately
- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes
- Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order
- Verify 100 % correctness of all test requisitions or computer labels against the script
- Package specimens for transport
- Store specimens at the required temperature
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Phlebotomy Certification
- Minimum of 3–5 years of phlebotomy experience
