Local contract position in Brandon, FL 33511 lasting 3 months or longer.
Schedule
- Wednesday – Friday: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Saturday: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Pay
$19.85 – $21.26 per hour (based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education).
Responsibilities
- Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and handle decontamination.
- Update patient information and collect/store specimens according to established procedures.
- Clearly explain venipuncture and other specimen-collection processes (e.g., urine or fecal) to patients.
- Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
- Interpret physicians’ orders accurately.
- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
- Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
- Verify all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for 100% accuracy.
- Package specimens for transport and store them at required temperatures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of phlebotomy experience.
