Schedule
Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (40 hours per week)
Pay
$18–$20 per hour
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2+ years of phlebotomy experience required
Responsibilities
- Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and handle decontamination
- Update patient information
- Collect and store specimens according to established procedures
- Clearly explain venipuncture and other specimen-collection processes (e.g., urine or fecal) to patients
- Demonstrate proper technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles
- Fully understand physicians’ orders
- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes
- Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order
- Verify all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for 100% accuracy
- Package specimens for transport
- Store specimens at required temperatures
