Phlebotomist - Full-Time, Day Shift
About the role
Join a leading academic healthcare system as a Phlebotomist in the Nursing Outpatient Phlebotomy department. You will perform blood draws, administer glucose tests, instruct patients on urine collection, and assist with specimen handling using Epic Beaker/Rover systems. You will check-in patients, support the draw room, stock supplies, maintain a sterile environment, and ensure excellent customer service by addressing patient and staff needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and skin punctures
- Administer glucose tests
- Instruct patients on urine collection procedures
- Handle and package specimens using Epic Beaker/Rover systems
- Check-in patients and support draw room operations
- Stock supplies and maintain a sterile environment
- Provide excellent customer service and address patient and staff needs
- Collaborate with healthcare staff
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program
- Proficiency in venipuncture and skin punctures
- Knowledge of asepsis and infection control
- Manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to handle stressful situations
Qualifications
Preferred candidates have ASCP certification and 1-2 years of experience.
Schedule
This is a full-time onsite role requiring approximately 40 hours weekly, primarily during day shifts, including weekends on a rotating basis.
