Phlebotomist Full-Time

Job Summary

Obtains specimens, identifies, accessioning and distributing them within department standards and hospital policies and procedures. Phlebotomy, clerical and courier functions as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Collects specimens from patients in a manner that supports the guest relations policy of the hospital.
• Using 2 identifiers. Identify, accession, and distribute samples within department policy and procedure.
• Prepares samples properly for testing by reference laboratory in appropriate fashion (ie: DHL, Airborne, Fedex, US Mail, etc.).
• Ensures that adequate supplies are available to complete anticipated volume of testing.
• Follows safety and infection control policies of the laboratory and all other hospital and department policies and procedures.
• Participates in all mandated inservice programs on an annual basis.
• Demonstrates excellence in customer service skills.
• Fosters an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration.
• Participates in quality improvement activities including serving on quality improvement teams.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must have a valid state phlebotomy license.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have at least one year of phlebotomy experience.
• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay

• $18.00 - $20.00 per hour.

Schedule

• Full-time position.
• Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
