PHLEBOTOMIST (FULL TIME) (A-P)

Duties And Responsibilities

• Collections and accurately labels blood specimens from patients of all ages according to policy and transports to appropriate testing sections.
• Receives and transports specimens from the laboratory drawing area to appropriate testing sections within the lab.
• Responds to order priorities in a timely manner i.e., STAT, ASAP, TIMED
• Maintains collection tray and laboratory drawing area in a clean and organized
• Assists others in the laboratory in those functions not restricted by rules, regulations or laws.
• Complies with policies and procedures regarding department operations, fire safety and infection control.
• Maintains and ensures patient confidentiality at all times.
• Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
• Completes annual safety, infection control and educational requirements.
• Is knowledgeable of the mission, ethics and goals of the department.
• Participates in CQI activities.

Qualifications And Experience

• Trained in Phlebotomy procedures of all ages.
