Phlebotomist Floater

About the role

The Phlebotomist III- Float represents the face of our company to patients who come for health routine checks or for important health decisions. This role involves drawing quality blood samples from patients and preparing those specimens for lab testing while adhering to established practices and procedures. Direct contact with patients is essential, where the Phlebotomist III- Float explains procedures, ensures safety, and maintains a trusting atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for lab testing.
• Ensures daily activities in Patient Service Centers, Mobile, Long Term Care, and In-Office Phlebotomy are completed accurately and on time.
• Provides coverage at multiple locations for various roles, stepping in as needed to lead teams.
• Acts as a coach, mentor, and instructor for new employees, providing onboarding services and regular feedback to supervisors.
• Handles high-complexity and high-volume practices with specialized phlebotomy skills, collaborating with sales, laboratory testing services, IT, billing, and logistics departments.
• Manages multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Five years phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Minimum 3 years in a Patient Service Center (PSC)/In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP) environment preferred.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.

• Must be able to work rotating shifts, including 9-5 M-F and occasional Saturday shifts.
