About the role
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients, both during routine health visits and for critical health decisions. The PSR II draws quality blood samples, prepares specimens for lab testing, and ensures a professional, trustworthy atmosphere. Responsibilities include explaining procedures, performing venipunctures safely and accurately, and maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of patient information. Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established practices.
- Verify patient demographic information, including patient signatures post-venipuncture to confirm correct labeling.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Travel and work flexible hours, including rotational Saturdays, with minimal notice to cover multiple locations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED.
- 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience REQUIRED, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; REQUIRED in California, Nevada, and Washington.
- Medical training (e.g., medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong decision-making skills based on established procedures.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment STRONGLY preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
- Must demonstrate superior customer focus, open communication, adaptability to change, and business awareness.
Schedule
- Monday – Friday: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM (variable depending on site).
- Rotational Saturdays: 6:00 AM – 11:00 AM.
