About the role
As a Phlebotomist Float, you will travel to various sites, gaining diverse experience while working with a wide range of patients, team members, and clinics. This role provides variety, skill development, and opportunities for continuous growth within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
- Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other diagnostic needs
- Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information
- Process billing information and collect payments when required
- Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
- Maintain patient and specimen information logs
- Provide superior customer service to all patients
- Handle administrative and clerical duties as necessary
- Travel to additional sites as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)
- California state-issued Phlebotomy license (CPT) or an application for a phlebotomy license filed with the CA Department of Health at time of hire
- 6 months or more of phlebotomy experience with Geriatric and Pediatric patients
- Pass a standardized color blindness test
- At least 21 years of age
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Reliable transportation
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 or more years of experience as a phlebotomist
- Current or prior experience with Labcorp
Pay
- Pay Range: $23.00–$33.00 per hour
- Float Incentive: Additional $1.50 per hour plus mileage reimbursement
- Quarterly Incentive Bonus Program: Eligible for performance-based quarterly bonuses
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, with hours varying between 6:00 AM–6:00 PM
- Additional hours and rotating weekends may be required

Employees scheduled to work less than 20 hours per week, casual, intern, and temporary employees are eligible for the 401(k) Plan only. Employees on a 7-on/7-off schedule receive all benefits except PTO or FTO.
