About the role

LabCorp is seeking a Float Phlebotomist to join our team in Marion, Illinois, covering southern Illinois. This position offers variety, allowing you to quickly gain experience working with diverse patients, team members, and clinics. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is available for external candidates.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other diagnostic needs
• Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Handle administrative and clerical duties as needed
• Travel to additional sites when required

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)
• 1+ years of phlebotomy experience (or completion of an accredited Phlebotomy certification/training program in lieu of experience)
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment with minimal supervision
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Must pass a standardized color blindness test
• Valid Driver’s License, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
• Must be at least 21 years old

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of phlebotomy experience in an outpatient lab environment

Pay

Pay range: $17.75 – $23.00 per hour. All job offers are based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, internal equity, and market data.

Eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics. Additional $2.00/hour float incentive plus mileage reimbursement.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, with scheduled hours varying between 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM, and rotating Saturdays.
