Phlebotomist - Destrehan Lab - Part Time

About the role

We're looking for a Phlebotomist to join our Destrehan Lab team. This is a part-time position where you'll support the department in patient care by performing phlebotomy procedures, processing and receiving specimens, accessioning specimens, distributing specimens, and performing and interpreting specific test procedures.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a phlebotomy course preferred.
• No prior work experience required.
• A current license or trainee license in the state of practice preferred.
• Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
• Proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of venipuncture procedures.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

While not specified, candidates should be able to sit for prolonged periods of time, travel throughout and between facilities, and work a flexible work schedule.

Skills

Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information. Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard. Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process. Knowledge of venipuncture procedures. Strong interpersonal skills.
