Phlebotomist Job Summary

Collects, processes, and delivers specimens to appropriate sections of the Laboratory for testing as ordered by the Physician. Actively participates in outstanding customer service.

Essential Accountabilities

• Show accountability by being trustworthy, responsible, and dependable while taking ownership of actions.
• Establish proficiency in collecting patient samples correctly, and proficiency and accuracy with laboratory EMR system for accurate order entry, faxing and printing, and scheduling.
• Must be comfortable with fast paced environment and be able to multitask.
• Exercise independent judgement and can work under minimal supervision.

Qualification

• Education: Phlebotomy training is preferred but not required. ASCP or AMT Phlebotomy license preferred but not required.
• Experience: Experience in a hospital or clinic setting is preferred but not required. Experience with LIS computer system preferred but not required.
