Phlebotomist (Certified): FT days

Essential Tasks, Duties, And Responsibilities

• Greets patients and correctly enters physician orders into the laboratory computer system.
• Obtains necessary information from outpatients for patient registration duties as required.
• Performs proper patient identification during all specimen collections.
• Answers phones, completes requests, and relays messages.
• Maintains current knowledge of all computer applications necessary to carry out job duties.
• Provides clear and complete communication and documentation to co-workers, patients, and clients using all tools available.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certificate preferred.
• Previous phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Must be currently certified in CPR/BLS (and recertified bi-annually).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive impression of the Medical Center at all times.
• Ability to handle sensitive telephone and face-to-face inquiries.
• Computer skills required.
• Ability to be mobile.
• Ability to read and write small letters and numbers.

Retention Bonus

Retention Bonus: $2,500 - $5,000! (based on experience)

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator's license and be insurable under Firelands' auto policy.
• Must provide proof of personal automobile liability insurance coverage upon request.
• Must communicate effectively in oral and written form to management, co-workers, patients, visitors, and members of the general public.
• Must comply with OSHA regulations and CDC standard and transmission-based precaution recommendations and utilize proper personal protective equipment.
• Must comply with provisions of applicable S.D.S. forms.
• Must successfully complete a ninety (90) day get-acquainted period.
