About the role

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions. The PSR II draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. The PSR II has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.

Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, a patient service center, or as business needs dictate. Under the direction of the area supervisor, the PSR II performs daily activities accurately and on time while maintaining a safe and professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
• Verify patient demographic information, including patient signature post-venipuncture, to confirm tubes were labeled in their presence and that the name on the label is correct.
• Maintain required records and documentation.
• Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
• Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
• Travel and work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime, to cover multiple locations with minimal notice.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections (required).
• Phlebotomy certification (preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred).
• 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment (preferred).
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment (highly preferred).
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).

Schedule

Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed).
