About the role

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the company to patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens skillfully, safely, and accurately. Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, a patient service center, or other locations as business needs dictate.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe and professional environment.
  • Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established practices and procedures.
  • Verify patient demographic information, including patient signature post-venipuncture to confirm tubes were labeled in their presence and the name on the label is correct.
  • Maintain required records and documentation.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
  • Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment with minimal on-site supervision.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical training (e.g., medical assistant or paramedic training) preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
  • 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Flexible availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  • Commitment to all Policies & Procedures, including Company dress code, Employee Health & Safety, and Everyday Excellence Guiding Principles.
  • Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
  • Travel and flexible hours required to cover multiple locations with minimal notice.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment highly preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.

Schedule

Full-time, 38 hours per week: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM Monday–Thursday and 8:00 AM–12:00 PM on normal Fridays. Occasional Friday New Patient Clinic shifts from 8:00 AM–3:00 PM. Central Standard Time.
