About the role
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the company to patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens skillfully, safely, and accurately. The PSR I performs both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing, maintains required records, and demonstrates organizational commitment.
Responsibilities
- Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing following established practices and procedures.
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing with confidence.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic training preferred).
- Minimum of 6 months experience; one or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience required.
Schedule
9:30 AM – 3:30 PM with a lunch break from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM.
