About the Role
This is a part-time position supporting our Lab Services team at our location in Covington, LA. The role involves collecting specimens for laboratory analysis, preparing them for processing, and ensuring efficient patient registration and lab workflow.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture on patients in a timely and professional manner.
- Verify lab orders are available and patients are registered in the laboratory software system.
- Greet and receive all patients professionally, warmly, and efficiently.
- Register patients into the system for proper specimen processing.
- Process specimens for internal and external processing.
- Maximize in-house lab processing.
- Manage the lab area.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of a phlebotomy training program.
- Phlebotomy Certification or Laboratory Assistant Certification highly preferred.
- 2 years’ experience in a lab required; oncology experience preferred.
