Essential Functions
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood specimen collection using established best practices.
- Demonstrate proficiency in difficult blood draws while maintaining patient comfort and confidence.
- Verify patient identity using approved patient identification procedures.
- Accurately label, process, package, and prepare laboratory specimens for transport.
- Document laboratory collections accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Maintain specimen integrity and ensure compliance with laboratory collection standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked laboratory draw station.
- Restock laboratory supplies, collection tubes, needles, PPE, specimen containers, and other clinical inventory as needed.
- Perform daily equipment checks and notify leadership of maintenance concerns.
- Follow OSHA, HIPAA, CLIA, CDC, and infection prevention guidelines at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality of protected health information.
- Collaborate with providers, nurses, and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Assist in maintaining a welcoming, professional, and organized clinical environment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetings as requested.
- Perform other duties consistent with the responsibilities of the position.

Minimum Qualifications
- Active California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT-I) license required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of phlebotomy experience in an acute care hospital, outpatient hospital laboratory, or high-volume ambulatory healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency performing venipuncture on diverse patient populations.
- Experience using electronic medical records preferred.
- Strong knowledge of specimen collection, processing, and laboratory safety procedures.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in concierge medicine, preventative medicine, functional medicine, or executive health.
- Experience working in hospital setting.
- Excellent customer service and patient engagement skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment.
