The posted compensation range of $35.15 - $39.42 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Responsibilities
- Performs venipuncture and capillary puncture procedures on all age groups as appropriate according to departmental standards in a timely manner
- Identifies patients, explains procedures, proficiently performs venipunctures, and accurately labels/prepares specimens for laboratory analysis, adhering to safety protocols
- Responds to STAT, ASAP, Timed and special lab requests (Rapid Response, Trauma, etc...) per departmental standards
- Performs clerical duties including answering the phones, assisting hospital staff within the lab and greeting customers in a polite and professional manner at all times
- Receives and processes samples according to departmental standards
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Completion of CA state approved phlebotomy license program
- One year of acute care experience (includes NICU, Pediatrics, Critical Care Patients) as a Phlebotomist (may consider candidates with less experience if no qualified applicants apply)
- Phlebotomist: CA CPT
- Basic Life Support - BLS through an American Heart Association provider
- Typing, organizational skills, knowledge of computers, ability to accurately enter data follow policy and procedure, ability to remain calm and function efficiently during difficult or emergency situations
