Phlebotomist

About the role

As a Phlebotomist you will help the Laboratory obtain and/or prepare specimens for analysis so they can provide accurate laboratory services vital for outpatient, inpatient, surgery, and emergency department patients. You will work under the direct supervision of the Phlebotomy Supervisor, using a state‑of‑the‑art wireless handheld computer to ensure patient safety and actively participate in fulfilling the Mission of Dignity Health. The role requires a dynamic, patient‑focused professional who is passionate about health and well‑being.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and/or prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Utilize a wireless handheld computer to document specimen collection and ensure patient safety.
• Follow Dignity Health’s values of Dignity, Justice, Stewardship, Collaboration, and Quality in daily practice.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to maintain the highest standards of safety.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CT CPRBLS) certification.

Preferred qualifications

• Previous experience in a health‑related field.
• Phlebotomy certification (national certification preferred).

Pay

$19.01 – $24.24 per hour
