Responsibilities
- Sets up instruments.
- Maintains, cleans, and sterilizes equipment and work area following safety, cleanliness, and infection control procedures.
- Receives, centrifuges, accessesions, processes and transports specimens.
- Verifies all related records.
- May draw and collect blood samples according to policy.
- Orders add-on tests, works pending lists, and resolves duplicate orders.
- Performs clerical duties which may include answering phones, reviewing EKGs, collecting patient demographic data for patient registration, ordering tests, reviewing Advance Beneficiary Notice of Noncoverage (ABN), data entry and filing.
