The network spans OB/GYN care, breast health, high-risk pregnancy care, urogynecology care, behavioral health, and fertility.
This position is located at Main Line OB/GYN in Exton, PA.
Responsibilities
- Verifies lab test requisitions and patient demographics in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Performs blood draws and specimen collections according to requisitions.
- Responsible for blood spinning, tagging, and bagging samples for lab send out.
- Checks schedules and organizes patient flow to help minimize patient wait time and efficiently communicate any delays to patients.
- Accompanies patients to exam rooms, assisting as needed with walking transfers.
- Prepares examination rooms.
- Maintains and cleans instruments and equipment according to office protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
- Orders lab supplies and manages inventory.
- Adheres to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and standardized quality control methods.
- Adheres to Patient Confidentiality Policies and HIPAA regulations.
- Ensures patient records are accurate so that claims can be properly billed.
- Promotes the Mission and Values of Axia Women's Health and develops rapport with patients, physicians, and colleagues.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
- Current national certification in Phlebotomy or national certification in Medical Assisting.
- A minimum of 2 years of recent experience working in a medical facility as a phlebotomist or medical assistant.
- eClinical Works experience a strong plus.
- OB/GYN experience strongly preferred.
Skills
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques to perform routine blood and urine tests.
- Knowledge of medical terminology to communicate with laboratory staff.
- Skill in labeling and maintaining all materials for collection.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, colleagues, and providers.
- Excellent customer service skills, including written and verbal communication.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and patients efficiently.
- Thorough tube knowledge and an understanding of the order of draw.
- Ability to follow written protocols.
- Ability to work independently.
- Successful ability to work with teams across the business to maximize the impact of the overall business effort.
Schedule
Monday–Thursday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM & Friday 8:00 AM–3:00 PM.
