Job Description

The Philosophy Adjunct Faculty member is responsible for providing high-quality instruction that supports student learning and success. Responsibilities include developing and delivering engaging course content, maintaining accurate and compliant course syllabi, assessing student learning outcomes, providing timely feedback, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Adjunct faculty are expected to utilize effective instructional methods and technology, remain current in their academic discipline and teaching practices, communicate promptly with students, and support institutional goals through participation in required meetings and other assigned responsibilities.

KSA's/Required Qualifications

• A master’s degree in the teaching field or master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours of coursework in the teaching field.
• Qualifying academic degrees and coursework must be awarded by and/or completed with a regionally accredited institution.
• Demonstrated commitment to student engagement and inclusive teaching practices
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Additional Considerations

• Experience teaching in the discipline, especially at the college level
• Experience teaching in in-person, hybrid, and online formats
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive working and learning environment
• Familiarity with learning management systems
