About the ECAP Program

The Early College Admissions Program (ECAP) is a Baltimore County Public School (BCPS) magnet program that provides students with a college preparatory program combining high school and college education in a supportive yet rigorous environment. Students can earn a high school diploma and an Associate of Arts in General Studies degree or up to 60 credits towards a Bachelor’s degree, which may be eligible for reciprocal credit at a four-year college or university. Classes are offered at both the high school campus and the community college campus, with tuition free.

Required Scheduling

Adjunct faculty providing instruction in ECAP programs require a schedule based on High School hours. Several classes may be required within one week, and there may be class rotations from week to week. A brief orientation may be required prior to classes commencing. ECAP instructors must check in at the front office of the designated High School before going to their classroom, receive a temporary badge, and report any on-site issues to the BCPS Coordinator. Instructors should inform the CCBC Coordinator, Coordinator for Credit Contracts, and ECAP Program Coordinator of any absences as soon as possible.
