Job Description
The Baton Rouge Philanthropy Intern is a key member of the Office of Philanthropy team, supporting the Baton Rouge fundraising program through various functions.
- Researching individual, corporate, and institutional supporters to strengthen current relationships and develop new partnerships
- Creative development of marketing and communications
- Donor database management for all philanthropy programs
- Assist with donor cultivation, stewardship, and fundraising events and activities
- Aid in recognizing and thanking donors
- Aid in philanthropy communications platforms for all philanthropy programs including website, social media, and mailings
- Support special projects for all philanthropy programs as needed
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate is a college student in good academic standing, majoring in Marketing, Business Administration, or Mass Communication
- Motivated and eager to learn
- Must be able to interact professionally with potential donors, with proven interpersonal, verbal, and communication skills
- Detail-oriented, resourceful, and creative; must be able to think strategically and execute detailed plans to completion
- Strong planning, research, and analytical skills
- Dependable, flexible, and reliable transportation is a must
- Experience with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred
- Desktop design and database management experience a plus
- Ability to obtain College course credit (based on College requirements) preferred
